tical%20reading%20activity%20based%20on%20a%20press%20article%20dealing%20with%20an%20energy-related%20problem%20is%20implemented%20with%20two%20groups%20of%20students%20of%2013%5Cu201314%20years%20old%20and%2016%5Cu201317%20years%20old%20in%20the%20same%20school%20%28a%20total%20of%20117%20students%29.%20Specifically%2C%20the%20research%20analyses%20the%20students%27%20profiles%20from%20the%20standpoint%20of%20their%20attitudes%20to%20the%20information%20given%20in%20the%20news%20story%20and%20the%20use%20they%20make%20of%20it%20when%20writing%20an%20argumentative%20text.%20It%20also%20analyses%20the%20difficulties%20the%20students%20have%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20applying%20their%20knowledge%20about%20energy%20in%20a%20real-life%20context.%20Lastly%2C%20some%20strategies%20are%20suggested%20for%20helping%20students%20to%20critically%20analyse%20the%20scientific%20content%20of%20a%20newspaper%20article.%20Three%20reader%20profiles%20were%20identified%20%28the%20credulous%20reader%2C%20the%20ideological%20reader%20and%20the%20critical%20reader%29.%20No%20significant%20differences%20were%20found%20in%20reading%20profiles%20in%20terms%20of%20age%20or%20scientific%20knowledge.%20The%20findings%20show%20that%20the%20activity%20helped%20to%20link%20science%20learning%20in%20school%20with%20facts%20relating%20to%20an%20actual%20context%2C%20particularly%20in%20the%20case%20of%20students%20with%20more%20science%20knowledge.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%222014%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%2210.1007%5C%2Fs11165-013-9397-3%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%2215731898%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%228XWMHABG%22%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222019-06-17T13%3A19%3A48Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
